Life Plasma joins Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA)

Life Plasma, a leading plasma company specializing in the collection of human plasma, used to make plasma-derived medicines, has announced today that it has received Plasma membership from The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA).

Life Plasma’s plasma collection facility in Reading, PA commenced operations and initiated source plasma collection in 2022. With the PPTA membership, Life Plasma is now part of PPTA’s Plasma member group that supplies human source plasma for further manufacturing the much-needed plasma-derived medicines for patients.

The Plasma Protein Therapeutics Association (PPTA) is a key player in the plasma industry, with an extensive network of human plasma collection centers and manufacturers. PPTA collaborates with numerous key stakeholders and policymakers to establish rightful standards and programs for donors and patients. PPTA members play a valuable role, producing approximately 80% of the plasma protein therapies used in the United States today, and more than 60% worldwide.
